BP Pulse joins ChargeHub's North American roaming hub

The integration places more than 850 bp pulse charging points at over 95 sites on ChargeHub's Passport Hub, reachable through the ChargeHub app and partner eMSP or automaker services.

BP Pulse has joined ChargeHub's Passport Hub roaming platform, adding more than 850 charging points at over 95 locations to the North American network.

Under the integration, drivers can locate, access and pay for charging at bp pulse sites through the ChargeHub app. The same sites also become reachable for users of other e-mobility service providers (eMSPs) and automakers connected to Passport Hub.

How the roaming hub works

Passport Hub is ChargeHub's roaming platform, linking charging networks with mobility service providers and vehicle manufacturers. Instead of registering separately with each charge point operator, drivers use the apps and services they already have across multiple networks.

That hub structure is central to the arrangement. A single connection gives a charging network a route to many eMSPs and automakers at once, while those partners can add coverage without negotiating a separate agreement for every network. For bp pulse, the deal widens the reach of its North American infrastructure; for ChargeHub, it adds another operator to the roaming ecosystem.

The integration concerns access and payment rather than charging hardware. A bp pulse site can appear inside a partner's existing map and payment flow once that partner has enabled Passport Hub access, so the practical change for drivers is where the site shows up and how they pay.

The announcement gives the number of charging points and locations but does not say how many are rapid or ultra-rapid chargers. It also does not specify whether all 850-plus points are available through every Passport Hub partner.

What the companies say

Sujay Sharma, BP Pulse's vice president of EV charging for the US, said the partnership extends access to the bp pulse network through roaming partners that drivers already trust. Networks working together benefit the whole EV ecosystem and represent an important step toward faster EV adoption, he said.

Simon Ouellette, chief executive of ChargeHub, said a network of bp pulse's size choosing Passport Hub is a strong signal that the hub model has become the standard way roaming is done in North America. Because the connection runs through a hub, he said, its effect reaches beyond the ChargeHub app: eMSPs and automakers in the ecosystem can offer their drivers access to bp pulse fast chargers through links they already have.
